W. Steven Saunders, Psy.D.

Dr. W. Steven Saunders is a Florida Licensed Psychologist and the Executive Director of Central Florida Psychological Consultants, where he has been serving the community for more than twenty five years. He practices in Clermont, providing comprehensive psychological care with a focus on law enforcement, forensic evaluation, and complex clinical assessment.

Dr. Saunders conducts pre employment psychological screenings for agencies throughout the region and provides fitness for duty evaluations for public trust positions, including law enforcement and federal personnel. His work also includes psychological and neuropsychological evaluations across forensic, medical, and civil arenas. He has offered expert testimony in hundreds of criminal, civil, and family law matters, and is known for clear communication, strong command of psychological science, and balanced professional judgment.

His credentials include recognition by the National Register of Health Service Providers, service as a Qualified Parenting Coordinator, and hospital based clinical privileges. He completed his internship with Florida State University and his residency with the United States Department of Justice. Dr. Saunders is an Senior Lecturer of Psychology at the University of Central Florida and an active member of the American Psychological Association, the Florida Psychological Association, and the American College of Professional Neuropsychologists.

His areas of specialty include family court evaluations, parenting assessments, psychological and neuropsychological testing, therapy, consultation, law enforcement pre employment work, fitness evaluations, research design, training, and supervision.

Outside of his professional life, Dr. Saunders enjoys playing the ukulele and spending time with the people he loves.
